The Heart Behind Dusty Luxe
Dusty Luxe was born from founder Anna Kennard’s deep love for vintage French homewares and the stories they carry. Her journey began in the picturesque Haute-Savoie region of France, where she and her family embarked on an 18-month sabbatical, fully immersing themselves in the rhythms of local life. From wake surfing on crystal-clear lakes to hiking rugged mountain trails, it was the quiet early mornings spent wandering brocantes and vide-greniers that truly captured Anna’s heart. What began as a personal passion for uncovering hidden treasures soon evolved into a greater vision: to share these soulful, storied pieces with others. With a trusted team on the ground in France, Anna continues to curate one-of-a-kind finds that celebrate the charm of imperfection and the beauty of history each piece chosen with care, each with a story to tell.
Anna Kennard
Founder of Dusty Luxe
Born in England, raised and educated in Scotland, and now calling Australia home, Anna Kennard carries a deep connection to the French countryside in her heart. After a successful career in financial services, Anna and her husband Cameron, along with their three children, embarked on
an 18-month sabbatical in the Haute-Savoie region of France. It was during these quiet, early mornings—wandering local videgreniers and brocantes—that Anna uncovered a passion for vintage French treasures. From handcrafted antiques to timeworn curiosities, she was drawn to pieces rich in history and imperfection.
Inspired by this experience, Dusty Luxe was born—a reflection of Anna’s eye for design, love of storytelling, and appreciation for objects with soul.
Back in Australia, Anna recently completed a full rebuild of their
family home in Mosman, where Dusty Luxe pieces are woven throughout, particularly in her light-filled art studio. The home was featured in Australian House and Garden Magazine. Her next
project? Designing, building, and styling a rural retreat in Berry, NSW—where French elegance meets Australian country living.
